Prof. Dr. D. Viswanathan is the Rector – Research and Development at Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute and former Vice Chancellor of Anna University. With a strong academic foundation in Mechanical Engineering from Annamalai University, College of Engineering Guindy, and a Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, his expertise lies in metal forming and mechanical metallurgy. He contributed to the Trishul Missile Project under A. P. J. Abdul Kalam and has collaborated with leading organizations like Defence Research and Development Organisation and Indian Space Research Organisation. He has published 50+ research papers and received the prestigious International Socrates Award from the European Business Assembly, UK.
