Brigadier PC Vyas, a 1987-commissioned officer of the Indian Army, joined the Institute of Advanced Research – The University for Innovation as Pro Vice Chancellor and Director on 1 September 2023 after an illustrious 36-year military career. An alumnus of OTA Chennai, DSSC Wellington, CDM Secunderabad and MCEME, he holds B.Tech (Electronics), M.Sc. (Defence & Strategic Studies) and MMS degrees. Brig Vyas has served across Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, desert sectors and counter-insurgency areas, and held key roles including Director EME (Operations & Plans) at Army HQ, UN Military Liaison Officer in Sudan and Registrar at IISER Berhampur. Awarded the Army Commander’s Commendation, he is known for his expertise in strategy, military technology, leadership and institutional administration, and actively writes on contemporary and technological issues.
