Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha, an IAS officer of the 2005 Uttarakhand cadre, hails from Bihar and holds an MBBS from Grant Medical College, Mumbai. Over his distinguished career, he has served as District Magistrate of Chamoli, Tehri Garhwal, and Pithoragarh, and held key roles such as Secretary in departments including Home, Panchayati Raj, Skill Development, and Education. He has led major initiatives like Swajal, Swachh Bharat, Namami Gange, and the IFAD-supported ILSP. Dr. Sinha has been CEO of CPPGG, MD of UTC, and Vice-Chairman of Haridwar Development Authority. He currently serves as Secretary, Disaster Management, Technical and Higher Education, and Director General, ULMMC. He has also been Secretary to the Honâble Governor and Project Director of World Bank-funded UDRP.
