Prof. Sabita Acharya, an esteemed Indian Anthropologist, is the first lady Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University. Specializing in Social and Cultural Anthropology, she holds a Commonwealth Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the University of Oxford (2002). With over three decades of teaching and research experience, she has conducted extensive fieldwork on tribal communities and PVTGs in Odisha. She has presented research at prestigious global forums, including IUAES congresses in China, Manchester, Brazil, and Poland. A prolific writer, she has authored over 60 research papers and edited three books, including the acclaimed Pilgrimage of Indian Civilization. As Director of the School of Womenâs Studies, she championed gender equality initiatives.
