Dr. Anup Kumar Rajput is Professor in the Department of Elementary Education at the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi. A specialist in mathematics education, foundational numeracy and early school learning, he has played a significant role in strengthening elementary education initiatives across India. He has served as Head of the Department of Elementary Education and Head of the NCERT Publication Division. He has also coordinated programmes related to foundational literacy and numeracy, including Padhe Bharat Badhe Bharat and ULLAS, and contributed to early-stage mathematics curricula such as Maths Mela. With a Ph.D. in applied mathematics/fluid dynamics, his areas of interest include reducing mathematics anxiety, integrating digital tools in classrooms, teacher training and improving learning outcomes. He has authored research papers and school textbooks.
