Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu is Vice Chancellor of Shobhit University and former Vice Chancellor of MRS Punjab Technical University, Bathinda, with over 34 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration. A Ph.D. in Engineering from IIT Roorkee, he has authored more than 200 research publications, with an h-index of 39 and around 6,500 Google Scholar citations. He has received several honours, including the Leading Engineer of the World Award, Best Engineering College Teacher Award, and ISTE Honorary Fellowship for distinguished contributions to technical education. Prof. Sidhu has held senior academic roles across four state universities and has contributed to curriculum development, academic audits, international collaborations, accreditation, institutional development, and research projects supported by DST, AICTE, DRDO, and CSIR. As Vice Chancellor, he has led initiatives in NAAC and NCVET accreditation, industry-academia collaboration, innovation, and strengthening research and student development.
