Dr. Thirumalai R

Dr. Thirumalai R is an accomplished academician, researcher, and administrator with over 23 years of experience in engineering education, research, and institutional leadership. A proud alumnus of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli, he has been recognized among Stanford University’s Top 2% Scientists globally for his contributions to machining, materials, and optimization. He played a pivotal role in securing accreditation and autonomous status for his institution while establishing advanced manufacturing and machining research laboratories. Dr. Thirumalai has guided 17 Ph.D. scholars and numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, with over 84 publications in reputed Scopus and Web of Science-indexed journals. An award-winning researcher, he is also an editor, reviewer, keynote speaker, and active contributor to the global engineering research community.
