Dr. S. J. Vijay

Dr. S. J. Vijay is the Registrar of Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore, and a Professor of Mechanical Engineering with nearly 20 years of academic, research, and administrative experience. His research focuses on additive manufacturing, friction stir welding, composite and nanomaterials, with applications in aerospace, marine, and electrical engineering. A Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Jeonju University, South Korea, he has published over 70 research papers, holds six patents, and has commercialized two innovative products. He has led funded research and consultancy projects worth over ₹2.5 crore and is currently collaborating with Boeing and DST on sustainable metal recycling technologies. As an academic leader and mentor, Dr. Vijay has guided numerous students toward successful careers in leading global industries and higher education.
