Dr. Debapriya Dey

Dr. Debapriya Day is an accomplished academic with a diverse background in Chemistry and Polymer Science. He earned his B. Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry from Ramakrisna Mission Vidyamandira and M. Sc. from University College of Science and Technology, both under Calcutta University. Joining IIT Kharagpur as a Junior Research Fellow in 1996, he completed his Ph. D. in Polymer Science and Engineering in 1999. Dr. De served as a Professor in Chemistry at MCKV Institute of Engineering till 2023, contributing significantly as Controller of Examinations. Noteworthy accolades include the Young Scientist Award from DST, Govt. of India, and the “Teacher of the Year Award” from MAKAUT in 2017. His research, spanning rubber recycling, nanocomposites, and microwave-absorbing polymers, is evidenced by 40 publications in prestigious international journals and three authored books. Prof. Premendu P. Mathur is the Vice Chancellor of Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar, with over 48 years of teaching and research experience. Previously, he served as the Vice Chancellor of KIIT University and was the Founder Head of the Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics at Pondicherry University, where he also led the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. A distinguished academician, Prof. Mathur holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Banaras Hindu University. He is an elected Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India, and the National Academy of Medical Sciences.
