Gujarat Vidyapith
Prof. Rajendra Khimani is the Vice-Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith. He holds the Ph.D. in Horticulture and have been professor of Agriculture in Anand Agriculture University, Anand, Gujarat. He is also known as pioneer of organic farming movement in Gujarat. He has been the Vice President of Horticulture Society of Gujarat and also the member of Editorial Board of Gujarat Agriculture University’s (GAU) Research Journal and Member of Board of Studies in different universities. He was registrar of Gujarat Vidyapith from 2004 to 2019. As a registrar, he has been instrumental in re-shaping several other institutions like Krishi Vigyan Kendras (K.V.K.), Tribal Research and Training Institute (TRTI), State Resource Centre (SRC), Rural Campuses, Ashram Shalas (आश्रम शाला), Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools that come under his guidance. In an attempt to return the University to its original mottos of Nai Talim (नई तालीम), Buniyadi Shikshan (बनुनयादी शशक्षण), Self-reliance, Dignity of Productive Labour, Community Living, etc, several unique programmes have been initiated including Pad Yatra (पद यात्रा), Energy Conservation and Organic Farming.
