Coempt Edu Teck Rejects CBSE OSM Allegations, Says Scanning Errors Triggered Answer-Sheet Controversy

Coempt Edu Teck, the Hyderabad-based firm facing scrutiny over the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) On-Screen Marking (OSM) system controversy, has dismissed claims of technical glitches and security vulnerabilities, stating that recent issues were isolated operational errors rather than failures in its technology infrastructure. The company clarified that the incident involving a student allegedly receiving another candidate’s answer sheet was linked to a mistake during the physical scanning process, not due to any software malfunction. According to Coempt, internal verification confirmed that the system itself functioned without technological errors, and the individual responsible for the scanning process had been identified. Responding to complaints regarding blurred answer-sheet images and readability concerns, the company said these cases are being examined in coordination with relevant evaluation authorities. It also refuted allegations that procurement norms were altered to allow inferior hardware, asserting that it uses industry-standard scanners that are upgraded regularly and deliver high-quality scanning resolution. Coempt further stated that nearly 95 percent of students who applied for access to scanned answer sheets have already received them, with only limited operational bottlenecks affecting the remaining cases. Addressing cybersecurity concerns raised after a 19-year-old ethical hacker reportedly discovered vulnerabilities on the platform, the company said the accessed server was only a publicly available testing environment containing dummy data and had no connection to live production systems handling student records. It emphasized that no student data had been compromised and its operational infrastructure remains secure. The company also referenced the controversy surrounding the 2019 Telangana Intermediate Examination Controversy, noting that courts had reviewed the matter and that the Supreme Court of India had rejected petitions seeking mass re-evaluation, compensation, and criminal proceedings against the technology provider. Currently, Coempt provides examination management services, including digitisation, on-screen evaluation, AI-assisted assessment, and question-paper management, to over 35 universities and educational institutions across India. Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026: 9th Edition Scheduled for February 6

The ninth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC), Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship interaction with students, is set to take place on February 6 at 10 am. Organised by the Ministry of Education, the annual programme focuses on promoting stress-free examinations and addressing concerns of students, parents and teachers ahead of the exam season. Continuing with the revamped format introduced last year, PPC 2026 will feature the Prime Minister engaging with students across multiple locations, moving away from the earlier tradition of hosting the event solely at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. In the previous edition, students from Devmogra, Coimbatore, Raipur and Guwahati interacted with PM Modi at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. The programme is open to students from Class 6 onwards, along with teachers and parents. The event will be broadcast live on DD National, DD News, DD India, major private television channels and All India Radio. Viewers can also watch the live stream on digital platforms including the PMO, Ministry of Education, Doordarshan and MyGov portals, as well as on YouTube (MoE), Facebook Live and Swayam Prabha channels. Launched in 2018, Pariksha Pe Charcha is held every year at the start of the examination cycle, coinciding with board and competitive exams. While CBSE board examinations typically begin in mid-February, national-level entrance tests such as JEE Main are scheduled for April. Interest in PPC 2026 has been substantial. According to official figures, registrations include over 4.19 crore students, nearly 24.85 lakh teachers and more than 6.15 lakh parents, taking total participation well beyond previous editions. The initiative forms a key part of the government’s Exam Warriors campaign, which aims to reduce exam-related stress and help students develop effective coping mechanisms. Participants receive acknowledgements, and selected winners are invited to take part in future programmes. Source: Indian Express

Delhi Govt Schools Achieve Remarkable Record with 96.99% Pass Percentage in Class 12

Delhi government schools have outperformed the national average with a remarkable 96.99% pass percentage in the Class 12 CBSE examinations, according to the results released. Similarly, in Class 10, these schools achieved a pass percentage of 94.2%, showing a significant improvement of 8.36 percentage points over the previous year and surpassing the national average of 86.7%. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal extended his congratulations to the students and the education department staff for this outstanding performance. This year, 151,429 students from government schools appeared for the Class 12 board exams, with 146,885 students clearing the exam. The pass percentage of 96.99% is notably higher than last year’s 91.59% and exceeds the pass percentage of 94.18% recorded by private schools in the capital. Furthermore, 307 government schools in Delhi achieved a 100% pass result in the Class 12 exams, more than doubling the previous year’s figure of 118 schools. Additionally, 863 schools recorded more than a 90% pass rate, an increase from 647 schools last year. Education Minister Atishi applauded the efforts of students, teachers, and parents for this remarkable achievement, emphasizing that Delhi’s education model sets an example for the nation. While the pass percentage for Class 10 in government schools improved to 94.2%, up from 85.84% last year, it was slightly lower than the 95.68% pass percentage recorded by private schools in the capital. Atishi encouraged students who did not clear the main exam not to lose hope and urged them to strive for improvement. However, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva dismissed the AAP’s claims of improved performance, citing alleged failures of underperforming students in Class 11. Overall, the results reflect the continued commitment of the Delhi government to provide quality education and maintain the trust of parents in government schools under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal.
