Archie Comics has been a trademark in the Bollywood industry for a long time. The comics have been an inspiration for epic movies like Jo Jeeta Woh Sikandar and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Now, Netflix India is all set to create yet another great masterpiece based on the comics that the industry will remember forever.
It all started five years ago when Graphic India secured the right to adapt Archie Comics. Today, Netflix India took to their official Instagram handle to announce that Zoya Akhtar has been brought on board to the project. The news took the internet by storm and, many fans are excited to hear about the project. Graphic India and Tiger Baby will be producing the movie.
When asked about this collaboration, Akhtar said, “I am super excited to have the chance to bring The Archies to life. It was a large part of my childhood and teenage years. The characters are iconic and globally loved, which is also why I am a little nervous. I have to make sure the film stokes the nostalgia of a generation that grew up on the comics and yet resonates with the young adults today.”
