Arvind Fashions Appoints Former Unilever Executive Lakshmi Krishnan as CHRO

Arvind Fashions has named Lakshmi Krishnan as its new Chief Human Resources Officer as the fashion retailer strengthens its leadership and organisational capabilities to support future growth.

Krishnan joins the company with more than 25 years of experience across human resources, organisational transformation, leadership development and talent strategy, having worked across India, Southeast Asia and the United Kingdom.

The company said she will lead its people and culture agenda during a key phase of business expansion, with a focus on building stronger leadership pipelines, enhancing talent management, driving cultural transformation and supporting long-term business growth initiatives.

Announcing the appointment, Amisha Jain said Krishnan’s extensive cross-sector experience in consumer goods, financial services and technology would add significant value to the company’s next stage of evolution.

Before joining Arvind Fashions, Krishnan spent over 14 years at Unilever, where she held several senior global HR leadership roles. Most recently, she served as Head of HR for Corporate Functions at Unilever’s London headquarters, overseeing HR strategy for teams across finance, legal, communications and sustainability functions covering more than 7,000 employees globally.

Her earlier roles at the company included leading HR operations for global procurement, engineering and Asia supply chain divisions. During her tenure, she managed HR strategy across factories, engineering operations and supply chain networks spanning APAC and Southeast Asia markets.

In one of her global procurement assignments, Krishnan reportedly supported a €31 billion procurement business involving over 1,500 employees and 60,000 suppliers worldwide. She also handled HR operations for nearly 10,000 employees across 15 factories in Asia-Pacific markets.

Prior to Unilever, Krishnan worked with organisations including Lehman Brothers, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Apt Talent Partners and Bedrock HR. Her expertise spans leadership development, organisational effectiveness, talent management, people analytics and transformation strategy.

Krishnan has also completed the CHRO Programme from Wharton Executive Education and holds a Master of Social Work in Human Resources from University of Madras.
