On July 15, 2022, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will publish the India rankings 2022, which will feature a list of the best colleges, universities, and other educational institutions nationwide.
The rankings will be virtually announced by the education minister at 11 am on the official website nirfindia.org.
“On 15th July 2022, Hon’ble Education Minister, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan will release the India rankings 2022 under National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), virtually. The annual exercise outlines a methodology to rank Higher Education Institutions (HEI’s) across India in various categories & subject domains. Stay tuned!” reads the tweet by Ministry of Education.
Institutions will be graded in one of 11 categories, including overall, university, colleges, engineering, management, pharmacy, law, medical, architecture, dental, and research, depending on their functional areas.
The institutions are ranked using a number of factors, including resources, research, and stakeholder perception. Each parameter has a specific weight allocated to it, which varies depending on the institution type. The total weightages determine the final scores and subsequently the rank.
IIT-Madras was ranked first among all educational institutions last year and first among engineering institutions.
The ranking is generally based on five main factors, including outreach and inclusivity, graduation outcomes, research and professional practise, teaching, learning, and resources, and peer perception.
