-By ArdorComm News Network

The School Education Department of Tamil Nadu has teamed up with Microsoft to scale up the Technology Education and Learning Support (TEALS) initiative throughout the state. Initially introduced as a pilot project in 14 schools across three districts, the program is now set to expand its reach to a commendable 100 schools. Teachers, specially trained under this initiative, are geared to impart knowledge in HTML, C++, Python, game development, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This pioneering move marks the first introduction of TEALS in India, offering a significant leap in technological education for students from Class 8 to 12. Teachers in Tamil Nadu, who have undergone comprehensive training since the commencement of the academic year, are now actively engaging students with the TEALS module.

Microsoft, a key player in this collaboration, is not only providing training to the educators but is also closely monitoring the implementation and progress of the initiative. Cecil M. Sundar, Director of Data and AI at Microsoft, emphasized the importance of AI-based skills in the job market, stating that there would be a substantial demand for such expertise in the next 5-10 years. Students equipped with these skills, he added, will be well-positioned to access a plethora of job opportunities.

The TEALS expansion in Tamil Nadu signifies a significant stride towards integrating advanced technological education into mainstream schooling. As the state gears up to nurture the next generation of tech-savvy individuals, this collaboration stands as a testament to the commitment to providing students with cutting-edge skills and preparing them for the evolving demands of the job market.
