ICFAI School of Architecture signs MoU with Politecnico Di Milano

The ICFAI School of Architecture a constituent of the ICFAI Foundation of Higher Education (IFHE) deemed University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the prestigious Italian University Politecnico Di Milano (Ranked No. 1 in Italy by QS) on August 23, 2021. The MoU was signed virtually. Dr. J Mahender Reddy, Vice Chancellor – IFHE said that “The agreement with the renowned institution like Politecnico Di Milano which is more than 150 yrs old is a great value addition and it will enhance the research activities of the faculty of the ICFAI School of Architecture (ISarch)”. Prof. Matteo Poli, DASTu, Politecnico Di Milano in his statement said, “The MoU will be the basis of several exchanges for students and professors of India and Italy, Milano and Hyderabad on architecture, landscape and urban design”. Highlights of the MoU:   To co-operate in conduct of seminars, courses, workshops, summer schools, internships and other research activities; To organize meetings, lectures etc., to share the knowledge and experience; To enable the exchange of teachers, researchers and students.   Ms. Varshini Varanasi, Visiting Faculty of ISarch and a former student of Milano, and Dr. Massimo Vianello, Advisor at ICFAI School of Architecture actively coordinated with the authorities in Italy for the successful completion of this MoU. About Politecnico Di Milano: Politecnico Di Milano is a scientific-technological University established in the year 1863 trains engineers, architects and industrial designers. The University has seven locations across Italy with over 47,000 students enrolled in this academic year. PM Modi Inaugurates the Defence Office Complexes at Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Africa Avenue

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Defence Offices Complexes at Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Africa Avenue in New Delhi today. He also visited the Defence Office Complex at Africa Avenue and interacted with the army, navy, air force and civilian officers. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said that in today’s inauguration of complexes, India has taken another step in developing the nation’s capital according to needs and aspirations of a new India in the 75th year of India’s independence. He lamented the fact that for a very long time the defence related work was being conducted from hutments constructed during the Second World War which were made keeping in mind horse stable and barracks needs. “This new defence office complex will strengthen the efforts of making the working of our defence forces convenient and effective”, he said. The PM said these modern offices built at KG Marg and Africa Avenue will go a long way in effectively carrying out all the work related to the security of the nation. This is a big step towards the construction of a modern defence enclave in the capital. He appreciated the inclusion of attractive artefacts by Indian artists in the complexes as symbols of Aaatmnirbhar Bharat. “The complexes reflect the modern form of diversity of our culture while preserving the vitality of Delhi and environment”, he said. The Prime Minister stressed the role of modern infrastructure in the government’s focus on ease of living and ease of doing business. “The ongoing construction work of Central Vista is going on with this thought only”, said the Prime Minister. Enumerating the efforts of new constructions as per the aspirations of the capital, the Prime Minister said that many constructions like residences for people’s representatives, Efforts to preserve Baba Saheb Ambedakar’s memories, many bhawans, memorials for our martyrs are enhancing the glory of the capital today. The Prime Minister said that these defence office complexes are the manifestation of changing work culture and priorities of the government. Optimal and proper use of available land with various departments of the government is one such priority, he said. The Prime Minister informed that these defence office complexes are constructed in 13 acre land parcels unlike earlier times when five times more land was used for similar complexes. The Prime Minister also highlighted that in next 25 years i.e. ‘Azadi ka Amrit Kaal’ productivity and efficiency of the government system will be supported by such efforts. Availability of a common central Secretariat, connected conference hall, easy connectivity like metro etc will help a great deal in making the capital people-friendly. UPSC Civil Services Admit Card Issued Today: Here Are All The Steps And Instructions You Need To Follow

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the admit card for the civil services exam that is going to be conducted in the year 2021. The candidates applying for the exam can check their respective admit cards from the website, ‘upsc.gov.in.’ The last date to download the admit card is October 10. The admit card is a must for verification purposes and without it, the candidate will not be allowed to apply for the exam. The admit card will be a compilation of the applicants photo, name, roll number, registration ID, year of exam and SOP. Steps To Download Your Admit Card Step 1: Visit the official website, upsc.gov.in Step 2: Click on the link in the ‘what’s new’ section Step 3: Log-in using credentials Step 4: Admit card will appear, download Important Instruction to Follow On Campus Candidates need to enter the exam venue 10 minutes prior to the scheduled commencement of the exam, which is 9:20 AM for the forenoon session and 2:20 PM for the afternoon session. Note: All candidates will be denied entry after the closure of the entry gates. Only the use of ordinary watches is allowed in the exam hall. Doctor Mike Ryan, Executive director of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme has stated that the COVID -19 pandemic will not end completely and there will still be chances of it spreading rapidly all over the world. Further, he has also added that the virus of the 2009 pandemic i.e. swine flu is on the rise once again, and is spreading rapidly. In his statement, he has also said that, as the vaccination rate increases all over the world, more people will achieve herd immunity which will result in a decrease in death and hospitalization rates. But, the COVID – 19 virus will still remain a matter of concern in the public health domain. His statement was as follows, “The lower levels of transmission and the more equitable distribution of vaccines will mean that herd immunity is achieved, and gradually we can look at lower levels of hospitalization. But as of now, it continues to be a public health emergency of international concern,” The 2009 virus breakout was labelled as the swine flu pandemic, which was reportedly the first global flu pandemic in 40 years.
